How to use this tool

The Crop Image tool provides a live, draggable crop rectangle so you can trim any image down to exactly the region you need. It is designed for quick edits: product photo cropping, profile-picture prep, screenshot cleanups, and removing unwanted borders from scanned documents.

How to use it

Drop an image onto the upload zone. A cropping rectangle appears over the preview at 70% of the shorter edge. Drag the rectangle to reposition it, or drag the bottom-right corner handle to resize. The dimmed overlay outside the rectangle shows exactly what will be removed.

When the crop looks right, click Crop & Download. The tool captures the region at the source image resolution — no matter how small the on-screen preview — and emits a lossless PNG.

Tips for great crops

The rule of thirds still applies: place your subject along the imaginary vertical or horizontal thirds lines for a more dynamic composition. For portraits, keep the eyes on the upper third.

Leave a small margin around the subject rather than cropping tight to the edges — a few percent of breathing room prevents the final image from looking claustrophobic on high-DPI screens.

Will cropping reduce image quality?

Only the cropped pixels are discarded; remaining pixels are untouched. JPG output is re-encoded at high quality.

Can I enter exact pixel dimensions?

Yes — type a target width and height after dragging the crop rectangle.

Can I crop to a specific aspect ratio?

Yes. Choose from free-form, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, or enter custom dimensions. The crop overlay shows exact pixel dimensions in real time.

Does cropping reduce image quality?

No quality is lost from the pixels you keep. The tool discards pixels outside the crop area and re-encodes at the same quality level.

Can I crop multiple images at once?
