How to use this tool

The Resize Image tool changes the pixel dimensions of a single image with pixel precision. It supports both fixed-width scaling (with an automatically-calculated height that preserves the aspect ratio) and free resize modes for cases when you must fit an image into a specific canvas.

How to use it

Drop an image onto the upload zone. Enter the target width in pixels — the height auto-adjusts to keep the aspect ratio intact. If you need non-proportional scaling, uncheck the aspect-ratio lock and enter both dimensions.

Click Resize to render the output preview. Compare it against the source panel, then download the PNG. High-quality bicubic-style resampling is used for both upscaling and downscaling.

Choosing the right dimensions

For blog content, 1200 px is a widely-accepted maximum width; anything larger wastes bandwidth on typical laptop and phone displays. For hero banners, 1920 px is the current sweet spot.

Avoid enlarging low-resolution sources by more than 2×. Upscaling cannot recover detail that was never captured and typically introduces soft or plasticy artifacts.

Upscaling cannot add detail that does not exist. The browser uses high-quality resampling, but the result may appear soft. Start from the highest resolution source available.
