User Guide

How to use this tool

The QR Code Generator produces high-quality QR codes for URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards, plaintext or any UTF-8 payload. Custom colors, adjustable error-correction level, a center logo overlay and configurable margins let you generate codes that fit any print or digital brand style.

How to use it

Type or paste your payload into the content textarea (URL, phone number, plain text, or any string). Adjust the size to match your final delivery medium — 512 px for web, 768 px for print. Set the margin (quiet zone) to give the code the whitespace it needs for reliable scanning.

Pick a foreground and background color from the pickers; the tool guarantees enough contrast for scanning as long as you keep the foreground significantly darker. Set the error-correction level (L, M, Q, H) — higher levels tolerate more damage or overlaid logos at the cost of denser code patterns.

To add a brand mark in the center, click the logo upload area and choose a PNG (transparent works best), JPG, WebP or SVG. Drag the logo-size slider between 10% and 30% of the code; the tool automatically paints a rounded safe-zone pad behind the logo so QR modules never touch the artwork. For any logo, switch error correction to H so the 30% redundancy keeps the code scannable even with the center obscured.

  • Center logo overlay with automatic safe-zone padding
  • Custom foreground and background colors
  • Four error-correction levels from 7% to 30%
  • Adjustable quiet-zone margin
  • PNG download at print-ready resolution

Best practices

Always test your QR code with several scanner apps before printing thousands of copies. Some scanners are stricter about contrast and margin than others. Print at 2×2 cm or larger for reliable phone-camera scanning.

For branded codes, keep the logo under ~25% of the total area and always use error-correction level H. The built-in safe-zone pad is drawn in your chosen background color so the logo stays legible on both light and dark codes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will adding a logo break the code?

Keep the logo under ~25% of the QR area and use ECC level H; the tool paints a safe-zone pad behind it automatically.

What size should I export?

Use 512 px for web and 768 px for print; the PNG scales crisply at typical phone-scan distances.

What content can I encode?

URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, vCard contact data, phone numbers, SMS, email addresses, and geo coordinates. Select the content type and enter your data.

Can I add a logo to the QR code?

Yes. Upload a small PNG logo and it will be centered in the QR code. The error correction level is automatically increased to ensure scannability.

What error correction level should I use?

Level L (7%) for clean codes, M (15%) for general use, Q (25%) with a logo, or H (30%) for heavily damaged or printed codes. The tool adjusts automatically when a logo is added.

Is this tool free to use?

Yes. This tool is completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks, and no daily limits. All processing runs locally in your browser.

What is the maximum payload size?

Up to ~4000 characters for alphanumeric content. Longer strings produce denser codes and require better print quality.

Can I add a logo to the center?

Yes. Upload a logo in the logo panel, set its size (10–30%), and switch error correction to H. The tool adds a safe-zone pad behind it automatically.
