Remove White Background

How to use it

Drop an image onto the upload zone. The threshold slider decides how "white" a pixel must be before it becomes transparent (default 240 out of 255). Increase for aggressive removal, decrease for more forgiving cutouts.

The feather slider controls how smoothly the transition between kept pixels and transparent pixels is rendered. A small feather value (4—) prevents jagged edges around the subject; a large feather value (15+) can make the edges look soft or watercolor-like.

When simple threshold is not enough

This tool works brilliantly for hard-edged product shots on white cyclorama backgrounds. It struggles with complex scenes containing hair, fur, glass, or wispy edges — those require an AI-powered segmentation model beyond the scope of this in-browser utility.

For difficult subjects, use this tool as a first pass and then touch up remaining artifacts in a dedicated editor. Or upload to a specialized background-removal service (accepting the cloud round-trip).
